If you want to downsize soon but aren’t quite ready to move into a retirement home that’s available now, our coming soon developments could be the answer. These new retirement developments are in the planning or building stages and give you longer to prepare, with more time to sell your current home and organise removal services, ready for your move.
Once you’ve found “the one”, simply sign up to receive updates about your development’s progress and completion dates. You can do this online via the development page or speak to our friendly sales consultants on 0800 201 4811 to register your interest. You’ll be first in line for the pick of retirement properties and early bird offers too.
How do I secure a new retirement home?
We’re here to help make moving easier even if it’s the first time you’ve moved in decades, with support at every stage of the process. If you’ve seen a home you like in a new retirement development that is still in the planning or building stages these are the steps you can take now.
To secure a ‘coming soon’ home with us:
1. Let us know you’re interested
If a new retirement home near you piques your interest, let us know by signing up for updates. You can do this online or by calling our friendly sales team on 0800 201 4811. We can then let you know about the progress of the retirement development including major milestones, completion dates, events and the important stuff like pricing or how to reserve off-plan.
This will allow you to take advantage of any early bird offers and to get first pick of the properties, so you can choose exactly the home you want. With off-plan purchases there’s also the potential to secure your favourite property for less, as prices often go up once a property is built.
2. Reserve your new retirement home
Once you’ve found a retirement apartment or bungalow you love, our helpful property consultants will answer your questions about the property, communal spaces, services and lifestyle. They’ll also go through the finances, including the service charges, and help you to ensure the property is the perfect one for you. If you’re completely happy they’ll help you to secure your new home with a deposit. This is usually £1,000 if you’re buying and £500 for retirement rentals, although there are variations.
3. Let us help you to prepare for your move
You’ll be given a date for when your new home is due to be finished, giving you time to plan your move. We’re on hand to support you with the legal process, selling your current home, decluttering and organising removals - if you want us to. Discover our full range of services for making moving easy.
