The winning artwork, plus runners up and commended artists will have their artwork displayed on the hoardings of Scholars Place for all that visits to see, and maybe hung on the walls of the development once it is built.

Entries can be submitted in any medium
• Entries must be supplied in A4 or A3 format
• Closing date for receipt of entries is 22nd February 2018
• Prize winners will be notified by 1st March 2018

The competition is open to all UK residents, except employees of McCarthy and Stone, their immediate family or anyone directly connected with this competition.
Entries must be entirely the work of the entrant and must never have been published, self-published, published on any website or online forum, broadcast nor won or been placed in any other competition (as at February 2017). Entries submitted posthumously will not be eligible. 


Prize winners will be notified by 1st March 2018 and invited to a winners reception and photo shoot at Scholars Place Information centre.We will notify the winner by email and telephone. The announcement of the winning entrant is final and no correspondence will be entered into. If the winner cannot be contacted within one week McCarthy & Stone reserves the right to choose an alternative winner.The list of prize winners will be displayed on the McCarthy and Stone website after 15th March 2018.

All winners agree to take part in non-paid publicity following their artwork being chosen (including photography if required), relating to the competition.


By entering into the competition the entrant automatically grants McCarthy & Stone with an unrestricted, non-exclusive, irrevocable and perpetual licence to use any artwork submitted to the competition for any purpose in which McCarthy & Stone deem appropriate for their own business purposes.


The judges' decision is final and no individual correspondence can be entered into. Judges are unable to comment on individual entries.Judging will be fair and unbiased. The organisers reserve the right to change the panel of judges without notice and not to award prizes if, in the opinion of the judges, such action is justified. Please note; entry implies acceptance of all the above rules. Failure to comply with the entry requirements will result in disqualification. McCarthy & Stone reserve the right to withdraw this competition as a result of unforeseen circumstances arising.
