A tranquil area for you to to relax, or for meeting friends and neighbours for a drink and chat, particularly in the summer months. Our friendly House Manager Sue, organises events weekly including a coffee morning, film night and exercise class. Every fortnight Sue holds an afternoon tea for all of our homeowners.

Our retirement apartments offer well-insulated, warm and energy efficient - which could mean substantial savings on bills, particularly with the winter months approaching.  We ensure the safety and security of our homeowners with a camera entry system as well as intruder alarms and smoke detectors in all apartments. You’ll benefit from a 24-hour emergency call system and the reassurance of a friendly House Manager, Sue who is on hand weekdays to help with anything you need.

Your apartment will include a spacious lounge and bedroom with either walk in or fitted wardrobe and all 2 bedroom apartments have a master bedroom with en-suite. Each apartment comes with a fully fitted kitchen. Balconies and patios are featured in select apartments.

Things to do in Burley in Wharfedale

If walking is an important part of your weekly routine, then look no further, moving to Summer Manor could be the place for you. The area is close to the countryside, perfect for walkers who enjoy indulging in breathtaking landscapes, fascinating nature, stone walls and quaint villages. You have the glorious stepping stones on the River Wharfe with access from the side of the development and there is a Nature Reserve, just off the Main Street, less than a mile away. 

Burley in Wharfedale is an attractive village with mainly Victorian era architecture. The village centres around the vibrant Main Street which has a host of independent shops from a butchers, deli to a chemist and hairdresser. There's also a GP surgery, post office and library. The village has a thriving cafe culture with a variety of venues for morning coffee or afternoon tea.

With a host of activities held within the village, you'll never be short of something to do. From Art to Zumba, there's a wide range of regular activities on offer daily.
