A picturesque village with plenty to offer, Bourton-on-the-Water is the ideal place to spend your later years. The River Windrush passes through the village as a beautiful natural attraction and is even home to the medieval football game held here every summer. The numerous bridges which cross it and the beautiful image they create have also contributed to the village’s unofficial title of the “Venice of the Cotswolds."
Local attractions of the area include a Model Village, Cotswold Motoring Museum, The Dragonfly Maze and Birdland Park and Gardens. There are plenty of footpaths for nature lovers to enjoy with the Heart of England Way (a 100 mile route) terminating in the village.
In terms of local amenities, a co-op shop can be found directly opposite the site with access to the local high street available a third of a mile away. Here you’ll find a great range of facilities including a local Post Office, chemist, bank, public library and plenty of shops. For fans of local produce, a farmer’s market is held on the fourth Sunday of every month at the Countrywide Store.
