Just a few hundred feet from the development is Marine Parade, from which Worthing's famous pier extends into the sea. Take in the sea air with a stroll along the pier and enjoy displays of spectacular artwork, try your hand at fishing or sample one of the many treats available from the pier's Art Deco cafe.

The town also has a host of art and cultural offerings. A variety of independent cinemas are dotted throughout the town, including The Dome Cinema, one of the oldest working cinemas in the UK. Head to the Pavilion Theatre, situated on the promenade at the entrance of Worthing pier, to enjoy performances including theatre, music and dance, or browse the craft markets and fairs hosted here regularly. And at Worthing Museum and Art Gallery you can take in everything from costume and toy collections to social history and archaeological displays.
Situated at the foot of the South Downs, Worthing is the perfect place from which to explore all that this National Park has to offer. As well as the huge variety of walking and cycling opportunities, it is also a place of huge historical significance. Cissbury Ring is an Iron Age hill-fort built around 2500BC - marvel at the undulating pits and mounds that mark out the hill-fort's remains and enjoy spectacular views in every direction from this magnificent landmark.
What's more, Highdown Hill is the site of a Bronze Age settlement that has produced some fascinating archaeological finds and, on a clear day, you can see as far as the Isle of Wight! While you're in the area, why not visit Highdown Gardens. Overlooking the sea, these beautiful chalk gardens are home to a unique collection of plants and trees. And don't forget to pop in to Highdown Tea Rooms on your way home!
