Pimperne Open Gardens given boost by £250 donation
The Pimperne Open Gardens in Pimperne has received a £250 boost towards the maintenance of the Pimperne Village Hall and the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. The team behind the Retirement Living development, Stour Gate on Barley Place, donated the money to Pimperne Gardens as sponsors of the Pimperne Open Gardens Weekend, which took place over the 22nd and 23rd June as the gardens opened up to the public.
The £250 donation will go towards the upkeep of Pimperne Village Hall and also support the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
As joint sponsors of the event, McCarthy Stone presented the cheque at the Open Weekend, to organiser of the event, Jackie Vacher.
The Pimperne Open Gardens weekend provides the opportunity for locals in and around Blandford Forum to visit some of the excellent gardens on display. During the weekend, nine gardens were open for the public to explore, from the small to ones as big as one acre. There was also some prestige on show with one garden designed by a Chelsea Gold Medallist, and another two gardens featuring in Amateur Gardener and The Garden.
Jackie Vacher, organiser of the Pimperne Open Gardens weekend, comments: “On behalf of the Pimperne Gardens, I want to say a huge thank you to McCarthy Stone for their generous support. Donations like these help us to maintain the Pimperne Village Hall and support local charities close to our hearts. We are always really grateful to our sponsors for their generosity, as we continue to provide a place of relaxation and solace for locals in Blandford Forum and the surrounding areas.”
Verity McKay, Divisional Marketing Manager at McCarthy Stone, added: “An important part of what we do here at McCarthy Stone is support local activities and initiatives in the towns and communities in which we build to help create a lasting, positive legacy. Therefore, we’re delighted to lend our support to the Pimperne Open Gardens event to provide funds to support local charities.”
