Suffolk's Newest Retirement Living Community is Officially Open

Squadron House Grand Opening

Locals were out in force to celebrate the official opening of Suffolk’s newest retirement community, Squadron House in Martlesham Heath.

The McCarthy Stone development was declared open by Cllr John Fisher, Vice Chairman of East Suffolk Council and the invited attendees had the chance to take a guided tour and enjoy a glass of fizz with some delicious refreshments.

Cllr John Fisher, Vice Chairman of East Suffolk Council, comments: “I was delighted to be asked to perform the official opening ceremony at Squadron House. It really is a stunning development that offers a retirement living environment with independence and community at its heart. I know from my discussions on the day when I visited that there is much interest and I welcome the addition of the McCarthy Stone development to the local community.”

Andrea Shaw, Area Sales Manager at McCarthy Stone, said: “We enjoyed a fantastic day as we proudly opened Squadron House.  All the guests had a wonderful time exploring the development and asked lots of questions about the apartments, our services and other amenities available on site.  It is great to see high interest levels in retirement living as demand for such inclusive and vibrant communities continues to grow. As such, we encourage anyone who is considering downsizing and moving to Squadron House to contact our sales team.”

Located on Eagle Way, Squadron House caters exclusively for the over 60s.Sitting alongside the one and two-bedroom retirement apartments at Squadron House is a selection of beautifully designed communal spaces, where homeowners can socialise with friends, family, and new neighbours alike. These include a spacious lounge and well-maintained landscaped patio area.

For peace of mind, a House Manager is on-site during office hours to oversee the day-to-day running of the development, and state-of-the-art security features, including door camera entry and a 24-hour emergency call point, are fitted as standard in each property.
