THE LOCAL AREA

Living in Worthing

Worthing is a beautiful seaside town with a rich history (both ancient and recent) just 10 miles west of Brighton. Home to Britain's largest concentration of Stone Age flint mines, it was also a well-known hotspot among wealthy Georgians and Victorians. And it remains popular today thanks to its warm climate, laid-back atmosphere and variety of local attractions and events.

The site for Neptune House is just a few hundred feet from the sea front and a short stroll to the main beach. Enjoy the sea air and take a walk along the front to Worthing's famous pier, where you?ll find fantastic artwork displays among the ice cream vendors and fishing points, as well as a stunning art deco cafe.

You?ll find art and cultural offerings around every corner in Worthing. The town is home to a variety of independent cinemas, including one of the oldest working cinemas in the UK. For theatre, music, dance and more, head to the Pavilion Theatre on the promenade, where you can also browse regular craft markets and fairs. And Worthing Museum and Art Gallery features a wide range of fascinating collections and displays, from costume and toys to social history and archaeology.

With the South Downs National Park on Worthing's doorstep, there are endless opportunities for walking and cycling among spectacular scenery. What's more, Cissbury Ring, an Iron Age hill-fort built around 2500BC, lies just 5 miles north of Worthing ? the site's undulating pits and mounds mark out its remains and from here you can enjoy stunning views in every direction.
