There are a number of theatres and museums in the area, including the family-friendly Inverness Museum and Art Gallery which allows visitors to explore the heritage of the Highland area and the Aviation Museum, a must for any flight enthusiasts. The Tarbat Discovery Centre is also a great place to learn about archaeological excavations in the area, whilst you can discover the events of the bloody Battle of Culloden in 1746 at the nearby Culloden Moor and visitor centre.
As is traditional in the Highlands, Inverness also offers fantastic access to a number of golf courses as well as the annual gold championships. The Highland Games are another big attraction for the area, drawing visitors from all corners of the globe.
