For a small town, Guiseley has a lot going on and a surprising history. St Oswald's Church, Guiseley, dates back to the late 11th century and is the place that the Brontë sister’s parents were married in 1812. What’s more Harry Ramsden opened his first ever fish and chip shop in Guiseley in 1928. It also has a thriving independent theatre. Guiseley Theatre is in a lovely historic building and offers everything from plays to comedy evenings. Sports fans will enjoy following the fortunes of Guiseley’s semi-professional football team, Guiseley A.F.C and the town is close to the prestigious and beautiful Moortown golf club established in 1909.

Guiseley is just 11 miles from central Leeds, the lively unofficial capital of Yorkshire and there are regular trains from Guiseley train station. There are also excellent transport links to Bradford and Ilkley.

You’ll find loads of glorious green spaces just outside Guiseley, including pretty Nunroyd Park and the spectacular Yorkshire Dales National Park with its many wonderful walking routes like the Dales Way, which includes Ilkley Moor and the Cow and Calf rocks.
