Anne Irvine uses the McCarthy & Stone part exchange service

Using McCarthy & Stone’s
part-exchange scheme has made moving to Kingsferry Court in Braehead a particularly stress-free move for one resident – Anne Irvine.

A former midwife in Glasgow’s Southern General Hospital, Anne, aged 68, moved to Kingsferry Court in Braehead last year. As she explains, it just felt like the thing to do from day one:

“When I lost my husband in August 2011, I knew more or less straightaway that I didn’t want the responsibility and maintenance of my house and garden. Whilst I have family locally, moving to a McCarthy & Stone apartment offered the ideal set-up because all the help you may need is at hand, and you don’t feel a burden to anyone.”

After viewing an apartment on her birthday with her sister last September, Anne felt that this was the right move for her as she didn’t want to move too far from where she currently lived.

Using the part-exchange scheme offered Anne a number of benefits as she described in her own words: “I didn’t want the stress of having people wade through my house when they came to view, so using part-exchange relieved me of all that worry because McCarthy & Stone handled all the viewings to sell my home.

“It also helped me to get on the move really quickly which suited me – McCarthy & Stone offered a fair price for my old home and that allowed me to simply look forward to moving Kingsferry Court."

Anne is enjoying life in her new home and is keeping busy as she adds: “I’ve made new friends and we take regular trips out, plus a group of us are keen knitters so we’re helping one lady out with a charity project to knit cardigans for ‘fish and chip babies’ in Africa.

“These are babies of families who suffer from extreme poverty and who leave hospital wrapped in nothing but newspaper – hence the name! So we’re knitting as many little cardigans as we can for this appeal but having a lovely time doing so. I’ve also recently started volunteering at the local WRVS coffee shop in the Southern General Hospital, and I’m really enjoying that too.”

Kingsferry Court has a number of Later Living apartments still for sale with prices starting from £99,950. Located close to Braehead Shopping Centre, Renfrew town centre is also nearby. The show complex is open daily between 10.30am – 5.00pm. Call 0141 886 4057 for more information or to make an appointment to view.
