McCarthy and Stone raises over £60,000 for Barnardo's charity

We would like to thank everyone who helped McCarthy & Stone raise over £60,000 for the children’s charity Barnardo’s.

Last September we began a year-long charity partnership with Barnardo’s and set ourselves a fundraising target of £50,000. With the help from our employees, our generous customers and suppliers we’re delighted to announce that we have exceeded our target, raising a total amount of £60,076.77 (INC gift aid).

How did we do it?

We baked, conquered mountains in Borneo, cycled across India, set up a ‘Winners Club Lottery’ and pre-Olympics we took on the enormous McCarthy & Stone Relay challenge. The mission saw Mac the bear and over 200 employees travel from Newquay to Forres in Scotland.. The team battled the weather, cycled, ran, walked and even saddled up to cover 1,300 miles to support the charity to raise much needed funds which would see their valuable work continue.

Once again, a huge well done and thank you to everyone who made this possible. Barnardo’s does a wonderful job in supporting children throughout the UK with a wide range of schemes, supporting more than a million 16 to 24 years olds to live the lives they choose. For information about how our donation will be spent supporting those children, head over to the Barnardo’s website.
