Location Spotlight - Retire to Kent
13 March 2014
History-rich, Kent is a beautiful place to live if you’re considering a move to the South East. One of the oldest counties in the UK, Kent is surrounded by historic houses, maritime heritage and stunning castles.
From exploring the stately homes and gardens to taking a trip back in time at the many museums, castle and cathedrals, homeowners will have access to everything they need. Bordering Greater London access to the city’s attractions and events is easy, Kent is a fantastic place to retire to.
Laurel Court is our fantastic Assisted Living development found in Folkestone and which offers stunning views of Folkestone Chalk Horse and Cheriton Hill. Set within a welcoming community, Folkestone combines traditional living with modern conveniences – offering easy access to surrounding cities via the M20 and M25 and France via the Channel Tunnel.
Elsewhere in Kent, Eadhelm Court is our fantastic Retirement Living development situated in the historic heart of the Eden Valley, Edenbridge. Here you’ll find a history which dates back to the time of the Romans and boasts numerous places of interest. Part of Kent’s Sevenoaks district, Edenbridge is found between the North Downs and High Weald and even contains the childhood home of Anne Boleyn – Henry VIII’s second wife – Hever Castle.
The seaside town of Herne Bay on the north Kent coast is the location of our Retirement Living development Thwaytes Court. Just five miles from the bustling harbour town of Whitstable and the cathedral city of Canterbury this area has been voted as one of the world’s top 12 destinations with the beach awarded the European Blue Flag for its safety and cleanliness – making it a great retirement choice. There are also strong transport links in the area provided by the local railway station which boasts connections to East Kent and London Victoria as well as the new high speed line into St Pancras, London and major road networks the M25 and M20.
Just four miles from Dover, is the area of Whitfield – home to our Retirement Living development White Fields Court. With evidence of settlements from both the Roman and Saxony times, Whitfield is an ancient village packed full of historical intrigue.
In addition to these great developments, we’re also proud to have two developments coming soon in the county.
Currently under construction is a new development in Folkestone and we’re also looking to offer a new Retirement Living development in Cranbrook which has recently received planning permission. The proposed site will offer immediate access to major road networks while the town itself boasts many attractive features. Cranbrook is nestled in the Wealden area of Kent and commonly known for being an area of outstanding natural beauty. This is thanks to the numerous woods, River Beult and mills located within it and make it an ideal place in which to retire.
Choose from our fantastic facilities in our Retirement Living developments, which offer an independent lifestyle that provides companionship, privacy and security. Our Assisted Living developments add extra assistance, available on a daily basis, to make the most of your retirement.
