A double win at the Elderly Council Awards

15 December 2014

EAC award for two McCarthy and Stone development

We are delighted to report that two McCarthy & Stone developments were recognised at The National Housing for Older People Awards.

Rockhaven Court in Bolton received a Gold award for ‘Best Scheme/Development’ whilst Dutton Court won a ‘Highly Commended’ in the same category.

The awards, held by the Elderly Accommodation Counsel, are particularly notable as the developments are ranked by the home owners who live in the schemes, and more than 3,300 people from nearly 300 specialist housing schemes were involved.

The residents score their scheme on a variety of statements relating to both the quality of the property and the care, support and general sense of wellbeing they enjoy there. It’s an award that recognises the quality of life in a development rather than just the design of the building, so it’s a great achievement for our Northern team.

The awards were presented at a ceremony held at Doncaster’s historic race Course on Tuesday 25th November and were attended by Mick Woodburn, Area Manager, Sharon Gratton, House Manager, and twelve home owners who attended on behalf of Rockhaven Court.
