Q. How long have you worked for McCarthy & Stone?
I have worked for McCarthy and Stone for nearly nine years
Q. Tell us about your role at McCarthy and Stone. What does a Professional Advisor’s role involve?
The role of Professional Advisor involves me contacting those who have expressed an interest in a new development by McCarthy & Stone. From this initial call I am then able to a book home visit which is an opportunity to meet the potential, future homeowner in their current property. Quite often this is with their families or friends. We’ll discuss the plans for the new development, the individual layouts and up to date specification of apartments that may be of interest. We will also discuss the benefits of the lifestyle that goes with life in a McCarthy & Stone property, for example the Homeowners Lounge, and the easy reservation process that will allow you to secure your chosen apartment off-plan. I then work with the purchaser every step of the way, right up until the day they move into their new home.
Q. What do you most enjoy about your role at McCarthy & Stone?
It is a real privilege to be able to make home visits as it makes an ideal venue to be able to give all the information to someone who is thinking about moving home without them having to travel anywhere. Being the first port of call for any interested customers enables them to have a direct link to one person who will be available to answer any of their questions and to provide a hassle free move for them. The most important day for me is when I see the huge smiles and excitement when my customers first view their new home.
Q. How have you seen the products evolve over the years you’ve worked for McCarthy & Stone?
The products have changed immensely over the years. Now we have fantastic under floor heating allowing maximum wall space for your furniture, fully tiled wet rooms, fully fitted kitchens with integrated fridge freezers and an oven at a sensible height so there is no bending down. And especially to keep the ladies happy, spacious walk-in wardrobes!
Q. What have our residents told you is the best thing about living in a McCarthy & Stone apartment?
Every person has their own tick list for moving into a McCarthy & Stone property. Some of the comments I hear on a regular basis are usually around the enjoyment and companionship our homeowners gain from socialising in the shared Lounges. Living in a McCarthy & Stone property gives people immediate access to new friendship groups among like minded people. Even on a cold wet winter's day there is always someone in the homeowners' lounge happy to have a cuppa and a chat. The other comment I hear is the added security of living within one of our buildings, a daily visit from the House Manager, gives our homeowners and their families peace of mind.
Q. Can you tell us about San Lorenzo Court in Carbis Bay, St Ives?
The new development in Carbis Bay blends in externally with the local properties using a mix of stone, slate and render. It is situated in an excellent location, just off the main road that leads into St Ives. There is also a large Tesco next door which is really convenient plus it has good access to local bus routes and train network. Trains from St Ives connect to the main London lines at Penzance or Truro. St Ives itself is a beautiful seaside town with cobbled streets and a picturesque Harbour. San Lorenzo has a magnificent foyer area leading into a beautifully furnished Homeowners' Lounge, and the guest suite probably has one of the best views that I have ever seen. You must come and see for yourself!
If you are thinking about purchasing a McCarthy & Stone property you can sample our development by taking advantage of our 'try before you buy' apartment, a must for those seriously considering a move to San Lorenzo Court.
