Wilmslow retirees enjoy an afternoon of all things Francaises!

10 November 2017

Retirees at McCarthy and Stone’s Lawson Grange Retirement Living development on Holly Road North in Wilmslow recently enjoyed an evening of all things ‘Françaises’. The Beaujolais Nouveau celebration saw retirees and guests sample exquisite French cheese and wine.

The Lawson Grange community was a hive of activity with both homeowners and their families and friends, enjoying a fantastic array of cheese and wine samples from France and various other European regions in homage to Beaujolais Nouveau Day – an annual celebration held in France on the third Thursday of November, to coincide with the first Beaujolais of the season becoming available.

Guests at the Beaujolais Nouveau event were also treated to a knowledgeable talk from Charlie Womersley about the wines. He created an energetic buzz within the development and added a je ne sais quoi to the event!

Fiona Brooks, Regional Sales and Marketing Director at McCarthy and Stone, commented: “Many homeowners at Lawson Grange remember how Beaujolais Nouveau day gathered in popularity in decades gone-by, with the race to get the first bottle of Beaujolais to Paris becoming a national television event.  With good cheese and fine wine a favourite among so many of us, we took the opportunity to host our very own Beaujolais Nouveau celebration and it proved to be a big hit.

“The afternoon provided an opportunity for homeowners to socialise and to expand the already vibrant community at Lawson Grange; while visitors were able to explore the development, and to find out more about the remaining apartments.  It was a great way of involving prospective purchasers in just one of the many exciting and interesting activities that take place at Lawson Grange.”

Comprising an exclusive collection of 30 privately-owned one and two bedroom apartments, exclusively designed for the over 60s, prices at Lawson Grange currently start from £334,999 and £424,999 respectively.

The development features a Homeowners’ Lounge, ideal for socialising with friends, beautifully landscaped gardens in which to relax, plus a convenient guest suite should homeowners have friends or relatives to stay. A dedicated House Manager takes care of the smooth day-to-day running of the development; and a security entrance system and 24-hour emergency call points provide added peace-of-mind.

Almost three quarters of the apartments at Lawson Grange are now reserved and all those who would like to find out more about the development are urged to call 0800 201 4811.
