Wardington Court in Kingsthorpe to host spring afternoon tea

05 May 2017

Homeowners and staff at McCarthy and Stone’s Wardington Court development on Welford Road in Kingsthorpe are inviting local people to join them for a Spring Afternoon Tea on Thursday 11th May.

The event will take place at the Retirement Living PLUS (previously Assisted Living) development from 2pm to 4pm and is free for all to attend. There will be a selection of homemade cakes and a glass of fizz; and retirees will have the opportunity to take a tour of Wardington Court and to experience for themselves some of the unique lifestyle benefits on offer there.

Anne Taylor, House Manager at Wardington Court, said: “We are really looking forward to hosting our Spring Afternoon Tea. We are all very proud of the new community we have created here in the heart of Kingsthorpe and, with the development now 90% sold, we hope local people will join us on Thursday to take a closer look at Wardington Court – and for plenty of tea and cake. Everyone is welcome and it should be a fantastic event!”

Comprising an attractive selection of 57 one and two bedroom Retirement Living PLUS (previously Assisted Living) apartments, exclusively designed for people aged 70 and over, Wardington Court provides everything homeowners could want for a relaxing and enjoyable retirement. Prices start from £249,950 for the last remaining two bedroom apartments.

McCarthy and Stone’s Retirement Living PLUS (previously Assisted Living) developments aim to bridge the gap between conventional Retirement Living and residential care. Homeowners are able to retain independence in the form of home ownership, yet still have the peace of mind of a range of additional 24/7 security and support services. Wardington Court offers a high-quality table service restaurant, a spacious and contemporary homeowners’ lounge, and lifts to assist with access; as well as beautiful landscaped gardens, and a convenient guest suite for when friends and family come to visit.

Ideally situated in the heart of Kingsthorpe and in close proximity to a wide variety of local amenities and shops, the apartments at Wardington Court have proven extremely popular to local residents. The remaining two bedroom designs have a great range of features, including spacious living areas, generously-sized bedrooms with fitted wardrobes, fully fitted kitchens, underfloor heating and fully fitted carpets throughout, as well as walk out balconies and patios with selected apartments.

Once a small country village, Kingsthorpe is now a popular suburb of Northampton and home to a lively high street just 300m from the development with a variety of shops and a number of local amenities such as banks, pharmacies, bakeries and the popular Kingsthorpe Library. There are excellent public transport links, with a main bus route offering regular services into Northampton town centre. With several green spaces, including the Kingsthorpe Recreation Ground adjacent to Wardington Court, Kingsthorpe retains its village charm.

The spring afternoon tea is expected to be busy and spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis. To book your place at the event please call 0800 310 0384, or for more information about Wardington Court click here.
