Pupils of Weston Favell Church of England Primary School

With the days now drawing in and the darker evenings upon us McCarthy & Stone has joined forces with Weston Favell Church of England Primary School in Northampton to help keep pupils safe on their way to and from school during the autumn and winter months.

The UK’s leading retirement developer has donated 250 reflective wristbands to help raise awareness of road safety amongst local schools, going some way to helping pupils become more visible to passing motorists during busy rush hour conditions.

Head teacher from Weston Favell Church of England Primary School, Jill Ramsey said: “We actively encourage our pupils to walk to and from school; it’s a great way to keep healthy and active and reduces road congestion. However, many are now finding themselves doing their journey in the dark, and we’re keen to make sure they stay as visible and safe as possible.

“We’d like to say a big thank you to McCarthy & Stone for the reflective armbands – they’ll definitely help our pupils to stand out.”

Gill Sabin, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy & Stone agreed, adding: “We’re committed to supporting the local communities in which we build so it’s a real pleasure to be able to make these donations and hopefully help in some way towards keeping pupils safe on their journeys to and from school.”

McCarthy & Stone is currently inviting over 70s to register their interest in the range of one and two bedroom Assisted Living apartments on Welford Road in Northampton. The development will offer the independence of retaining home ownership while living in an apartment specifically designed for the over 70s.
