TV’s Fred Dinenage Celebrates with Retirees in Nailsea

29 July 2019

Television and news presenter Fred Dinenage MBE was joined by local retirees for the grand opening of McCarthy and Stone’s latest Nailsea development, Bucklands

Fred, who has enjoyed a successful TV career spanning more than 50 years, visited the Retirement Living development on Stock Way South to share his experiences as a presenter, and to provide an insight into some of the many breaking news stories he has reported on over the years.

Guests also heard first-hand about Fred’s experience of hosting much-loved quiz shows such as ‘Pass The Buck’ and ‘Gambit’; and he talked about the many factual books he has written – and ghost written – including an autobiography on the infamous Kray Brothers.

Fred commented: “It was a pleasure to visit Bucklands and give a talk on my colourful television career. The development provides an excellent solution for all those looking to enjoy an independent and active lifestyle in retirement, and I enjoyed meeting and chatting to homeowners. It’s clear everyone values the quality of life afforded by their surroundings and the freedom of having a range of services on their doorstep.”

Ciara Hilley, Divisional Marketing Manager for McCarthy and Stone, commented: “We are delighted so many Nailsea retirees and their families joined us for the grand opening of Bucklands, and we are very grateful to Fred Dinenage for making it a day to remember!

“As well as having the opportunity to meet Fred and to hear about his wonderful career, visitors were able to take a closer look at Bucklands and find out more about the quality of life on offer at a McCarthy and Stone development.”

Comprising a selection of one and two bedroom Retirement Living apartments, exclusively for people aged 60 and over, Bucklands offers retirees the opportunity to maintain an independent lifestyle.

The development features a homeowners’ lounge, ideal for socialising with friends, landscaped gardens maintained by McCarthy and Stone’s experts, and a convenient guest suite should homeowners have friends or family to stay. Additional benefits include an experienced House Manager who oversees the day to day running of Bucklands and 24-hour emergency call systems for added peace-of-mind.

Located in the heart of Nailsea, Bucklands is ideally situated for easy access to local amenities, including supermarkets, restaurants and a Post Office.  It also benefits from excellent public transport links to Bristol.

Furthermore, in July and August there has never been a better time to move. For a limited time, McCarthy and Stone will pay stamp duty on selected new apartments at Bucklands for reservations made before 31st August 2019, provided the completion date is no later than 25th of October 2019.
