Surrey locals invited to share their winter wonderland snaps

30 November 2017

The UK’s leading retirement housebuilder, McCarthy and Stone, is inviting local people to capture the essence of Surrey for its winter inspired photography competition.

As the year draws to a close and the colder weather moves in, the team at McCarthy and Stone’s Virginia Water development, Augustus House, has launched a seasonal photography competition, inviting local people to capture photographs of Virginia Water in the winter months.

Budding photographers from Surrey are invited to enter the competition, which will challenge people to capture winter images in their local areas. Entries could include anything from the frost settling at Windsor Great Park, the icy Virginia Water Lake, or hands warming by the fireplace. One lucky winner will receive a £100 Marks & Spencer voucher, and their winning photography will be displayed in Augustus House for future McCarthy and Stone homeowners to enjoy.

Those wishing to take part should email their photos and contact details to mccarthyandstone@mccann.com, or post to Augustus House Royalty Competition, C/O McCann PR, Communications House, Highlands Road, Shirley, Solihull, West Midlands, B90 4WE. Entries should be submitted no later than midnight on 31 December 2017.

Georgina Akers, Sales and Marketing Director at McCarthy and Stone South East, explains: “Virginia Water is the perfect place for downsizers and retirees to settle, with its fabulous combination of local amenities, beautiful scenery and excellent transport links. We are looking forward to seeing the village in the winter through the eyes of those who know it best – its residents – and we’re excited to see how they’ll showcase all that Surrey and Virginia Water offers.

“Set in the heart of Virginia Water, Augustus House is perfect for those wishing to relocate to spend their retirement years in a quintessentially English village.”

Currently under construction, Augustus House will comprise of 59 one and two bedroom apartments, with an array of facilities on-site, including a bistro-style restaurant serving freshly prepared meals daily, a wellbeing suite in which to relax and unwind and beautiful landscaped gardens. Located in the picturesque town of Virginia Water, Augustus House boasts views of The Bourne, with easy access to a parade of shops and excellent transport links to London Waterloo, Reading and Clapham Junction via Virginia Water’s railway station.
