Strictly Stars Neil And Katya Take to The Dancefloor with Virginia Water Retirees

02 September 2019

Homeowners and staff at McCarthy and Stone’s Augustus House Retirement Living Plus development, on Station Parade in Virginia Water were joined by retirees for a spectacular afternoon of ballroom dancing last week with Neil and Katya Jones, stars of Strictly Come Dancing.

Neil and Katya Jones are British and World Champion dancers. Born in Germany, Neil is an innovative choreographer and director, as well as a dancer. Russian born Katya loves fashion and, aside from professional dancing, she also plays the piano and designs her own dresses.

Guests who attended the special event at Augustus House enjoyed impressive performances from the professionals; and after wowing everyone with dances such as the cha-cha-cha, Neil and Katya demonstrated some popular moves to help attendees improve their own techniques.

Julie Ward, National Sales Director for McCarthy and Stone South East, said: “Our ballroom dancing event was a great success. Neil and Katya put on a fantastic performance for our homeowners and guests, and everyone loved getting involved and meeting the couple. If people were not up and dancing, then they were certainly tapping their toes.

“The event was a good chance for us to showcase the wide variety of activities we host here at Augustus House, and to provide people with an insight into the lives homeowners enjoy at the development. We would like to thank Neil and Katya for putting on a stunning show.”

As well as dancing the afternoon away with the Strictly Come Dancing stars, guests at the ballroom event were able to take a closer look at Augustus House. There was an opportunity to take a tour of the show complex, meet the McCarthy and Stone team, and chat with retirees who are already living at the development.

Comprising a selection of 59 one and two bedroom Retirement Living Plus apartments, exclusively designed for people aged 70 and over, Augustus House provides everything homeowners could want for a relaxing retirement.

Bridging the gap between conventional Retirement Living and residential care, Retirement Living Plus enables older people to retain independence in the form of home ownership, yet still have the peace-of-mind of a range of additional security and support services. Bespoke personal packages are available for retirees who need extra support – from help with laundry or cleaning, to round the clock personal care to suit their individual needs.

The shared lounge is perfect for socialising with new neighbours and a bistro serves freshly prepared meals daily for those who do not want to cook in their own apartments.  A dedicated Estates Manager takes care of the smooth running of the development, with 24 hour, 365 days a year on-site staffing, providing peace-of-mind for homeowners and their families.

Offering excellent road and rail links, Virginia Water is an ideal retirement location. Augustus House is within close proximity of Virginia Water Lake and provides retirees with easy access to London’s Victoria Station.
