Elizabeth House - Bowls Donation - North London

McCarthy and Stone, the housebuilder behind the new Retirement Living Plus development Elizabeth House in Stony Stratford, has given Stony Stratford Bowls Club, a welcome boost with a £500 donation.

Based at Ancell Trust Sports Ground, Stony Stratford Bowls Club welcomes members aged 10 years old and upwards to play bowls in a friendly environment. The mixed club has more than 100 active playing members, several of whom have become County Finalists and have played in the All England Finals at Leamington.  The club is frequently in the finals for the Men’s Buck Cup and Ladies’ Trundell Trophy, and it plays a mix of friendlies and competitions throughout the week during the period mid April to end of September.

McCarthy and Stone’s Sales Executives Jasmine Turner and Teresa Staroscik, presented David Jacklin, Chairman at Stony Stratford Bowls Club, with a cheque for £500, which will be going towards improving the club facilities and amenities for the members.

David Jacklin said: “Financial assistance is hugely important to us if we wish to continue to play a part in tournaments and challenges; and, as we are looking to improve our club facilities, donations such as this also help towards the costs.  We are very grateful to McCarthy and Stone for its generous donation. As a club that is 95 years old, we value our place within the Stony Stratford community and support from local business is always welcome.”

McCarthy and Stone’s Area Sales Manager, Amanda Nesbitt added: “As a company, we appreciate our responsibilities go further than building quality retirement apartments, and we also seek to create a positive legacy in the communities in which we build.

“Stony Stratford Bowls Club recognises the importance of participating in sporting and social activities, and fostering companionship across the generations, so it was an absolute pleasure to present this donation.  The team at McCarthy and Stone’s Elizabeth House development wishes David and the team every success with their ongoing commitment to bringing bowls into the lives of people of all ages.”
