Edward House - Donation - North London - St Andrews Centre

McCarthy and Stone, the housebuilder behind the new Retirement Living Plus development Edward House in Hertford, has given St Andrew’s Church Beer Festival a welcome boost with a £1,000 donation.

Set to take place on Saturday 8th September, St Andrew’s Beer Festival is held at St Andrew’s Church on St Andrew's Street in Hertford as a part of a weekend of family-friendly Harvest festivities. After the first event in 2016, Hertford locals are looking forward to the Harvest festivities, with this year’s festival expecting to attract more than 300 visitors.

McCarthy and Stone’s Sales Executive, Nicola Humm, presented Chris Seward, Festival Coordinator at St Andrew’s Church, with a cheque for £1,000 – part of which will help to cover festival costs, with the remaining amount set to be donated to the festival’s chosen charity, WaterAid.

Chris said: “We are very grateful to McCarthy and Stone for its generous donation.  Our aim is to build on the success of first ever St. Andrew’s Beer Festival in 2016, and this contribution will help to cover the festival costs and ensure a donation to WaterAid.”

McCarthy and Stone Area Sales Manager, Hellyn Fairbrother, added: “As a company, we appreciate our responsibilities go further than building quality retirement apartments, and we also seek to create a positive legacy in the communities in which we build.

“It was an absolute pleasure to present this donation to St Andrew’s Beer Festival.  The festival itself is a great example of the difference that can be made by bringing together different generations to raise money for an important cause, such as WaterAid. The team at McCarthy and Stone’s Edward House development wishes Chris Seward and the team every success for this year’s event.”
