Showcasing stunning designs in Eaton

02 October 2017

McCarthy and Stone’s Coralie Court development on Bluebell Road in Eaton is setting the trend for Retirement Living. The UK’s leading retirement housebuilder has partnered with Edward Thomas Interiors to create stylish and homely living spaces, exclusively for the over 60s.

Midlands-based Edward Thomas Interiors has created an elegant design scheme for Coralie Court which fits with the luxury lifestyle on offer at the prestigious development.

Andy Richardson, Managing Director of Edward Thomas Interiors, commented: “We have a strong relationship with McCarthy and Stone, and we have enjoyed working with the East Midlands team many times before. Before we start working on designs, we like to visit the development to get a feel for the surrounding area; and we talk to local retirees to discover what prospective homeowners may desire in terms of style, and what they need in terms of functionality.”

Andy and his team specialise in quality bespoke work, and they sought to reflect the individuality of the homeowners through unique features crafted especially for Coralie Court

Andy continued: “Designing for retirement requires a great attention to detail. Looking around the homeowners lounge’, you wouldn’t assume it was for Retirement Living, but everything has been thoughtfully hand-picked to ensure everyone can enjoy their new home to the maximum. All the spaces are modern, yet timeless.

“The scheme uses warm hues including mauves and sage greens with cosy fabrics including wools and velvets to create a homely, inviting space. There are a range of different areas within the homeowners’ lounge for different activities – whether it be a social cup of tea or a quiet read in a peaceful nook – there is something for everyone.”

Currently under construction, Coralie Court will comprise a selection of 42 one and two bedroom Retirement Living apartments, exclusively designed for people aged 60 and over, providing everything homeowners could want for a relaxing retirement.  All those who make the development their home can enjoy an active, independent lifestyle, with the opportunity to benefit from companionship when desired and privacy when needed.

Coralie Court features a homeowners’ lounge and a convenient guest suite should homeowners have friends or relatives to stay, in a picturesque village location. A House Manager will take care of the smooth-running of the development; while a security entrance system and 24-hour emergency call points will provide added peace-of-mind for both homeowners and their families.

Cheryl Bissett, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy and Stone East Midlands, said: “We have already had a fantastic response to our new Coralie Court development, which is proving incredibly popular with retirees in the local area. All homeowners can be confident they are getting the very best, as more than nine out of ten customers would recommend McCarthy and Stone to a friend, ensuring we have received the full Five Star award for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation for 12 years’ running.  McCarthy and Stone is the only UK housebuilder of any size or type to achieve this accolade for 12 years, which is every year the awards have been run.”

Edward Thomas Interiors also designed Former British Olympic Champion, Dame Mary Peters CH DBE RNR living room, dining room and bedroom. Andy added: “It was great to do some design work for Dame Mary – we worked with her to create a classic look for her living room as well as provide enhancement and window treatments to other areas of the home. We created design boards using some of the existing pieces she wanted to keep and she was delighted with the end result.”

Set in the heart of Eaton Village, the development is close to Eaton Park and local amenities including a supermarket, opticians, pharmacy, Doctor’s surgery, shops and cafes. The historic city of Norwich is just a short journey away, boasting beautiful cobbled streets, an ancient cathedral, a popular market and department stores. Prices at Coralie Court currently range from £219,950 for a one bedroom apartment and from £276,950 for a two bedroom apartment.
