Sajid Javid MP visits new retirement development in Bromsgrove

15 September 2017

Sajid Javid MP for Bromsgrove and Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, recently paid a visit to Bilberry Place, McCarthy and Stone’s Retirement Living Plus development on Recreation Road, which welcomed its first homeowners last month.

Following Mr Javid’s first visit last October when the development was under construction, the MP returned to meet with McCarthy and Stone’s Chief Executive Officer, Clive Fenton, to discuss the success of the new development which is already more than 55% sold, as well as the company’s broader commitment to build more housing in the West Midlands.

Sajid Javid MP, said: “In order to build a country that works for everyone we must ensure that we are building all types of housing, so that everyone has a safe and secure place to live. It was a real pleasure to return to Bilberry Place and see the development complete and welcome the new homeowners to the area, including some familiar faces I know who have bought there.”

Exclusively designed for the over 70s, Bilberry Place features a collection of 58 one and two bedroom apartments, priced from £199,950 and £249,950 respectively. Potential purchasers can also take advantage of McCarthy and Stone’s range of tailored incentives, aimed at making moving easier. These include Part Exchange available for homebuyers trading up or down.

Clive Fenton, Chief Executive Officer at McCarthy and Stone, said: “It was a pleasure to again welcome Mr Javid to our Bilberry Place development in Bromsgrove. I’d like to personally thank him for his time, and for speaking so highly of the work that has been carried out here. It was great to be able to give him a full tour of the facilities, and everything that the McCarthy and Stone lifestyle in Bromsgrove has to offer retirees.

“The UK has an ageing population and our Bilberry Place development is a prime example of how McCarthy and Stone is working to tackle this issue by designing and building age-exclusive developments that cater for older people who want high-quality, centrally located housing that allows them to maintain an independent and active lifestyle.”

Bilberry Place, which now has just 25 apartments remaining, includes a stunning homeowners’ lounge, ideal for socialising with friends, landscaped gardens maintained by an expert team, a table service restaurant, and a convenient guest suite should homeowners have friends or relatives to stay. Bilberry Place also benefits from its very own Estates Manager, who will take care of the smooth-running of the development, while a security entrance system and 24-hour emergency call points will provide added peace-of-mind for both homeowners and their families.

Conveniently located in the heart of Bromsgrove, Bilberry Place benefits from easy access to a broad range of shops and essential amenities, as well as transport links to Birmingham City Centre.
