Homeowners and staff at McCarthy and Stone’s  Tudor Rose Court development in Southsea welcomed local retirees on Valentine’s Day for a special Afternoon Tea Dance.

Love was in the air at the event, which took place at the Retirement Living Plus development on South Parade on Wednesday 14th February. In a nod to the history of the site, which used to be home to the Savoy Ballroom, everyone enjoyed two ballroom dance performances from professional dancers Emma and Christopher Burrell who even taught them a few dance moves, and afternoon tea was served.

The event provided the perfect opportunity for those interested in Retirement Living Plus in Southsea to enjoy the luxury surroundings, meet the friendly on-site team and chat with like-minded retirees who are already living at the development. Guests were also able to take a tour of the Tudor Rose Court show complex.

Samantha Weller, Tudor Rose Court Estate Manager, said: “Our Valentine’s Day Tea Dance was a great success. Emma and Christopher put on a fantastic performance for our homeowners and visitors, and everyone got into the Valentine’s spirit. If people were not up and dancing, then they were certainly tapping their toes.

“The event was a good chance for us to showcase the wide variety of events and activities we host here at Tudor Rose Court, and to provide people with an insight into the lives homeowners enjoy at the development.”

McCarthy and Stone’s Retirement Living Plus development, Tudor Rose Court, is part of a dual development, which also offers Retirement Living at Savoy House, situated next door exclusively for the over 60s.

Tudor Rose Court comprises a selection of 66 one and two-bedroom apartments, exclusively designed for people aged 70 and over. All those who make the development their home can enjoy an active, independent lifestyle, with the opportunity to benefit from companionship when desired and privacy when needed.

Homeowners can make the most of the beautiful landscaped gardens, knowing all the maintenance is taken care of. They can also feel secure in the knowledge that the Estate Management Team is on hand to provide any help or support should they need it; and that friends and family can stay over whenever they choose in the development’s comfortable guest suite.

Whether homeowners require help with chores such as housework or laundry, or just an extra pair of hands, support packages are tailored to individual needs. A fully equipped bistro-style restaurant provides freshly prepared meals daily if homeowners don’t wish to cook in their apartments; and 24-hour emergency call points provide added peace-of-mind for both homeowners and their families.
