Retirees in Stockport to benefit from free advice service

24 April 2017

McCarthy and Stone is inviting Stockport retirees to an open house event on Friday 19th May at its Woodgrove Court Retirement Living development. The free event will provide an opportunity to chat to McCarthy and Stone’s dedicated team of experts who will all be on hand to provide advice on Part Exchange, benefit entitlements and Smooth Move packages for potential downsizers.

Current or prospective homeowners will be able to pop in to the development off Peter Street on Friday 19th May and speak in confidence to Entitlements Advisor, Aleks Clayton. Aleks will help to explain the entitlements process in clear and simple terms, provide information on how to fill out the forms, and identify if individuals might be eligible for an additional monthly allowance through running a full benefits check.

In the last five years, McCarthy and Stone’s Entitlement Advice Service has helped homeowners claim over £5 million in benefits, and it is hoped that this event will bring some of these savings, and help to raise awareness of the benefits Stockport retirees could be eligible for.

A panel of experts will also be on hand to provide advice and experience on downsizing your home, Part Exchange and the Smooth Move packages available from McCarthy and Stone to help older people plan for later life.

Visitors will be able to find out more about the fantastic lifestyle benefits on offer at Woodgrove Court, all whilst enjoying a selection of cheese and wine.

McCarthy & Stone adviser talking to elderly couple

Fiona Brooks, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy and Stone North West, said: “At McCarthy and Stone we aim to ensure our homeowners and prospective homeowners have access to all the support and assistance they need to live comfortably and enjoy their retirement. We would advise retirees of all ages to carry out a full benefits check to ensure that they are receiving the correct help – it really can make all the difference.

“We are aware of how the prospect of filling out lots of complicated forms and making calls can put elderly people off the thought of downsizing to a new property. That’s where we step in with our expert panel to make the moving process as stress and hassle free as possible. We would encourage anyone interested in downsizing to a McCarthy and Stone development to drop into our Moving Solutions event on Friday 19th May and find out how McCarthy and Stone will support you in your move every step of the way.”

McCarthy and Stone’s Retirement Living developments offer homeowners the very best in independent living within a safe and secure environment, with the opportunity to benefit from companionship when desired, as well as privacy when needed.
