Retiree Set To Host Art Exhibition As Part of Open Day

16 July 2019

A homeowner at McCarthy and Stone’s Brueton Place Retirement Living development on Blossomfield Road in Solihull will be showcasing his works of art in a special exhibition running for three days, starting on Saturday 20th July, coinciding with an open day.

Gordon Rainbow, 87, has been a homeowner at Brueton Place for just over two years but has been painting his whole life, creating a variety of pieces ranging from landscapes, watercolours and pencil drawings.

Local retirees and their families are invited to an open day at Brueton Place on Saturday 20th July from 11am to 3pm, when they will be able to explore Mr Rainbow’s extensive collection of over 100 pieces, which will remain on display until Monday 22nd July.  They will also have the opportunity to purchase the works of art, with a minimum donation of £10, with all proceeds being donated to the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MND).  Guests can also find out more about the last remaining apartment at Brueton Place, and they can take a closer look at what the McCarthy and Stone development has to offer.

Speaking about the exhibition, Mr Rainbow, said: “I am really looking forward to being able to showcase my art to other homeowners, their families and anyone else who would like to come along to the exhibition. If we can raise some money for MND Association too then it will be a great day.”

Jane Mayhew, Regional Sales and Marketing Director at McCarthy and Stone West Midlands, added: “I would encourage anyone who is looking for something to do this weekend to come along and take a look at Mr Rainbow’s art. There will be some fantastic pieces on show and you can really see the passion that has been poured into each one.  We will also make the most of the opportunity to open our doors to local people to show them what life is like at Brueton Place, and how McCarthy and Stone can help you to live your retirement years to the full.”

Brueton Place features a homeowners’ lounge, ideal for socialising with friends, large landscaped gardens in which to relax, and a convenient guest suite should homeowners have friends or relatives to stay. The House Manager is on hand to take care of the smooth-running of the development; and security entrance systems and 24 hour emergency call points provide peace-of-mind for homeowners and their families.

Conveniently situated just a mile from the Touchwood Shopping Centre and bustling high street, homeowners benefit from easy access to all essential amenities and excellent transport links.

More than nine out of ten customers would recommend McCarthy and Stone to a friend, ensuring it has received the full Five Star award for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation for 13 years’ running.  McCarthy and Stone is the only UK housebuilder of any size or type to achieve this accolade for 13 years, which is every year the awards have been run.
