Residents invited to help shape plans for retirement accommodation in Loughton

30 March 2015

A public exhibition will give local residents the opportunity to view and comment on McCarthy & Stone’s preliminary plans to redevelop the former tennis courts at Alderton Hill, Loughton.

The site is being sold by Roding Valley High School, as the school is investing in higher quality sports facilities. McCarthy & Stone’s plans seek to sympathetically redevelop the site with approximately 38 high-quality Retirement Living apartments, specifically designed to meet the needs of local people in later life, together with car parking and professionally landscaped gardens.

The public exhibition marks the next stage of the community consultation and will be held:

On: Tuesday 31st March 2015

At: Lopping Hall, 189 High Road, Loughton, IG10 4LF

Between: 3 p.m – 7 p.m.

The proposal site is ideally located for older person’s accommodation, being just minutes walking distance to local shops, services and transport options. McCarthy & Stone believes the redevelopment of the site offers an important opportunity to provide much needed Retirement Living apartments, increasing the housing choice for local older people in Loughton.

Ali Maruf, Regional Managing Director at McCarthy & Stone said:

“We have spent time carefully researching the architecture and character of the local area, and our early design perfectly complements its setting. We’ve worked hard to make sure our proposal for the site feels like it belongs to Loughton.

He continued: “We want to hear from the local community and our future home-owners before we submit a planning application. We’ll be displaying our plans at a public exhibition and our project team will be there to answer questions and listen to feedback on what we have done so far. The comments we receive will help us tailor our proposal into something people will want to see, enjoy and call home.”

McCarthy & Stone is renowned for the quality of its developments that give homeowners the time and opportunity to do things they’ve always wanted to do. The apartments allow people in later life to retain their independence, close to their family and f-riends, in their own home suited specifically for customers’ needs, in a safe and enjoyable environment.
