Residents’ invited to help shape plans for retirement accommodation in Crosby

11 December 2013

Residents are being urged to come and have their say to help shape plans by McCarthy & Stone, the UK’s leading developer of retirement apartments, to transform land off Moor Lane, into high-quality Retirement Living apartments.

Award-winning retirement living specialist McCarthy & Stone is proposing to redevelop the vacant properties at 16, 16a, 18, 20, 22 and 24, into accommodation offering older people the support and services to help them live happier, healthier and longer lives.

Before a planning application is submitted, initial designs for the Retirement Living accommodation will go on show at a public exhibition on Tuesday 17 December at St. Luke’s Church, 71 Liverpool Road, Crosby, Merseyside, L23 5SE between 3pm and 7pm.

McCarthy & Stone Northern Regional Managing Director, Steve Secker, said "We’ve already spent time carefully researching the architecture and character of the local area but we need to ensure what we build is what our customers, as well as the local community, would like to see in Crosby."

The exhibition will give residents the opportunity to put forward suggestions to shape the proposals.

Mr Secker added:"We want to hear from our future home-owners and neighbours before we submit a planning application and will be displaying our plans at the exhibition.

"Our project team will be at the exhibition to answer questions and listen to feedback on what we’ve done so far. The comments we receive will help us tailor our proposals into a development people will want to see, enjoy and call home."

McCarthy & Stone is renowned for the quality of their developments that give their homeowners the time and opportunity to do things they’ve always wanted to do.

The accommodation will allow people in later life to retain their independence, close to their family and friends, in a home suited specifically for their customer’s needs, in a safe and enjoyable environment.
