Residents invited to help shape plans for retirement accommodation in Cleethorpes

McCarthy & Stone, Britain’s leading developer of retirement accommodation is bringing forward proposals to redevelop land at the junction of Taylor’s Avenue and Hardys Road. The plans would deliver new Retirement Living apartments comprising a mix of one and two bedroom units together with private on-site parking spaces and attractive landscaped gardens.

Local residents are invited to view the plans and provide the project team with their feedback, at a public exhibition, taking place on;

Thursday 17 July 2014 between 3pm and 7pm

At Cleethorpes Cricket Club, Chichester Road, Cleethorpes, DN35 0HZ

McCarthy & Stone Retirement Living schemes offer a secure environment that has been specifically designed to meet the needs of people in later life. Homeowners retain privacy and independence with their own front doors, but also have access to the company of others through the use of communal facilities including a homeowner’s lounge and extensively landscaped gardens.

Steve Secker, Regional Managing Director for McCarthy & Stone (Northern Region) said;

“We have taken time to study local architecture and the character of the area in order to ensure a sympathetic and acceptable design. Our plans are at a very early stage and we’re keen to meet with local residents so that we can understand their views and aspirations for the site and where possible incorporate them into our planning application.

“We are confident that these proposals will help to address a demand for retirement accommodation in Cleethorpes as well as improve local housing mix. The site is well located for accessing amenities and has good public transport links connecting it to the wider area.”

Typically, people moving into McCarthy & Stone Retirement Living apartments are looking to downsize and ease the burden of maintaining larger homes that are then released onto the market for families who want to move up the property ladder and remain living in the area.

McCarthy & Stone is committed to engaging with the local community ahead of submitting a planning application. If you are unable to attend the public exhibition or would like further information, McCarthy & Stone has provided a freephone information line for you to call (0800 298 7040) and have set up a website covering their initial proposals which can be found at
