Residents invited to help shape plans for retirement accommodation in Bovingdon
18 September 2015
A public exhibition will give local residents the opportunity to view and comment on McCarthy and Stone’s plans to redevelop the Jaguar/Renault garage on Hempstead Road, Bovingdon.
McCarthy and Stone’s plans seek to sympathetically redevelop the site with approximately 34 high-quality Retirement Living apartments, specifically designed to meet the needs of local people in later life, together with onsite car parking and professionally landscaped gardens.
The designs have been developed over the summer following a series of community consultation events including design workshops, meetings and presentations, to allow residents and stakeholders an opportunity to view the early designs and provide feedback. All comments were carefully considered as the plans evolved and the public exhibition marks the next stage of the community consultation which will be held:
On: Thursday 1 October 2015
At: Bovingdon Baptist Church, High Street, Bovingdon, HP3 0HG
Between: 2.30 pm and 7 pm
Ali Maruf, Regional Managing Director at McCarthy and Stone said:
“We want to hear from the local community and our future home-owners before we submit a planning application. We’ll be displaying our latest plans at a public exhibition and our project team will be there to answer questions, explain how the plans have progressed over the summer and listen to feedback.
“The comments we receive will help finalise our proposal into something people will want to see, enjoy and call home before a planning application is submitted later in the autumn.”
McCarthy and Stone is renowned for the quality of its developments that give homeowners the time and opportunity to do things they’ve always wanted to do. The apartments allow people in later life to retain their independence, close to their family and friends, in a safe and enjoyable environment.
