Residents invited to help shape plans for retirement accommodation in Borehamwood

01 April 2016

A public exhibition will give local residents the opportunity to view and comment on McCarthy and Stone’s preliminary plans to redevelop Avenir House on Studio Way, Borehamwood.

Avenir House already benefits from planning approval for a residential, open market scheme. McCarthy and Stone is now seeking to sympathetically redevelop the existing the site with specially designed Retirement Living and Assisted Living (Extra Care) apartments to meet the needs of older people including those who require an element of care.

The public exhibition will be held:

On: Wednesday 4th May 2016

At: Holy Cross Church, Balmoral Drive, Borehamwood, WD6 2QU

Between: 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The proposal site is ideally located for older person’s accommodation, being just minutes walking distance to local shops and services. McCarthy and Stone believes the redevelopment of the site offers an important opportunity to provide much needed Retirement Living and Assisted Living (Extra Care) apartments, increasing the housing choice for local older people in Borehamwood.

Ali Maruf, Regional Managing Director (North London) at McCarthy and Stone said: “We want to hear from the local community and our future homeowners before we submit a planning application. We’ll be displaying our plans at a public exhibition and our project team will be there to answer questions and listen to feedback on what we have done so far. The comments we receive will help us tailor our proposal into something people will want to see, enjoy and call home.”

McCarthy and Stone developments, such as Mandeville Court in nearby Potters Bar, give homeowners the time and opportunity to do things they’ve always wanted to do. The apartments allow people to retain their independence and be close to their family and friends, in a home suited specifically to their needs.

If you aren’t able to attend the public exhibition or would like further information, please contact McCarthy and Stone on 0800 298 7040. Additional information can be found at
