Residents’ invited to help shape plans for the former Park Tavern pub.

Residents are being urged to help shape plans to transform the former Park Tavern pub, Broadway North, Walsall, into high-quality Later Living retirement accommodation.

McCarthy & Stone, the UK’s leading developer of retirement apartments, is proposing to redevelop the current derelict building, offering older people the support and services to help them live happier, healthier and longer lives.

Before an application is submitted initial designs for the Later Living accommodation will go on display at a public exhibition on Wednesday 11 September, at the Main Hall, Hydesville Tower School, 25 Broadway North, Walsall, WS1 2QG, between 3pm and 7pm.

Lorena Brown, Regional Managing Director at McCarthy & Stone commented said “We’ve already spent time carefully researching the architecture and character of the local area but we need to ensure what we build is what our customers, as well as the local community, would like to see in Walsall.”

The exhibition will give residents the opportunity to put forward suggestions to shape the proposals.

Ms Brown added: “We want to hear from our future home-owners and neighbours before we submit a planning application and will be displaying our plans at the exhibition.

“Our project team will be at the exhibition to answer questions and listen to feedback on what we’ve done so far and the comments we receive will help us tailor our proposals into a development people will want to see, enjoy and call home.”

McCarthy & Stone is renowned for the quality of their developments that give their homeowners the time and opportunity to do things they’ve always wanted to do.

The units allow people in later life to retain their independence, close to their family and friends, in a home suited specifically for their customer’s needs, in a safe and enjoyable environment.
