Public Exhibition - Tewkesbury
26 June 2014
Residents’ invited to help shape plans for retirement accommodation in Tewkesbury.
Local residents will have an opportunity to shape new homes in Tewkesbury, as McCarthy & Stone announce a public exhibition to display its early proposals for the Oldbury Road car park site situated on Station Road.
McCarthy & Stone, the UK’s leading developer of retirement apartments, met with a number of neighbouring residents and local stakeholders to discuss its initial plans in May 2014. The public exhibition marks the next stage of the community consultation and will be held:
On: Monday 30 June 2014
At: Holy Trinity Church, 10 Oldbury Road, Tewkesbury, GL20 5NA
Between: 3 – 7pm
McCarthy & Stone’s plans seek to redevelop this site with approximately 32 high-quality Retirement Living apartments, specifically designed to meet the needs of local people in later life; together with car parking and professionally landscaped gardens.
The proposal site presents an ideal opportunity to introduce specialist retirement housing for the community. It is within close walking distance to local shops and services, and the Council has included the car park within the Tewkesbury Town Centre Master Plan as appropriate to deliver residential properties.
Darren Humphreys, Regional Managing Director at McCarthy & Stone said:
“We have spent time carefully researching the architecture and character of the local area, and our proposals feature a traditional design. We’ve worked hard to make sure our proposal for the site feels like it belongs to Tewkesbury.
He continued: “We want to hear from the local community and our future home-owners before we submit a planning application. We will be displaying our plans at a public exhibition and our project team will be there to answer questions and listen to feedback on what we have done so far. The comments we receive will help us tailor our proposal into something people will want to see, enjoy and call home.”
McCarthy & Stone is renowned for the quality of its developments that give homeowners the time and opportunity to do things they’ve always wanted to do. The apartments allow people in later life to retain their independence, close to their family and friends, in their own home suited specifically for customer’s needs, in a safe and enjoyable environment.
