New Retirement Living Plus Complex Launched in New Alresford

23 July 2019

Last week saw the grand opening of McCarthy and Stone’s new Retirement Living Plus development, Wayfarer Place, on The Dean in New Alresford.

The McCarthy and Stone team at the development were joined by New Alresford retirees and their relatives for an open day to celebrate the latest milestone at Wayfarer Place, where more than 40 per cent of the apartments have already been reserved.

Many local people turned out for the event, where live entertainment was provided by a Michael Bublé tribute act. The professionally-styled show complex at Wayfarer Place was unveiled on the day, and guests took the opportunity to take a closer look at the layout and specification of the apartments.

Visitors were also invited to spend time in the social spaces, such as the homeowners’ lounge, bistro and function room, and they were also able to walk around the landscaped gardens and get a feel for the low maintenance lifestyle they could enjoy at the development.

Wayfarer Place has been designed for the over 70s, and future homeowners will benefit from having an Estates Management team on-site 24 hours a day.  Tailored care packages and domestic support will be available for those who need a helping hand.

Ciara Hilley, Divisional Marketing Manager for McCarthy and Stone Southern, commented: “It was fantastic to mark this latest milestone at Wayfarer Place with such a lively and well-attended open day.

“Developments like these are a great asset to the community as they help to bridge the gap between conventional retirement living and residential care. This provides greater flexibility and choice for people who may be looking to downsize in later life, by allowing them to keep independence in the form of home ownership, but with the peace-of-mind of additional support services, should they need them now or in the future.

“We are all incredibly proud of Wayfarer Place, and would encourage anyone interested to get in touch and come and see for themselves what makes this development so special.”

Wayfarer Place features a collection of one and two bedroom apartments, designed to enable the over 70s to retain independence and homeownership. In addition to the many on-site facilities, the development benefits from an Estates Team so homeowners can receive flexible care and support, tailored to their individual needs.

Built with security in mind, there will be a camera entry system to the development along with 24-hour emergency call points for added peace-of-mind.

For the first time, McCarthy and Stone customers in New Alresford can also choose from a range of flexible retirement living solutions to suit them and their personal circumstances, whether they prefer to rent at Wayfarer Place, or to take advantage of a part buy, part rent option.

Furthermore, in July and August there has never been a better time to move. For a limited time, McCarthy and Stone will pay stamp duty on selected new apartments at Wayfarer Place for reservations made before 31st August 2019, provided the completion date is no later than 25th of October 2019.
