McCarthy and Stone‘s plans for Retirement Living apartments submitted to Cheshire West and Chester Council

21 October 2015

McCarthy and Stone, the UK’s leading retirement housebuilder, has submitted an application to redevelop land on Bradburns Lane, Hartford, with high-quality, Retirement Living accommodation.

The plans, submitted to Cheshire West and Chester Council, have been specifically designed to meet the needs of older people while offering an attractive design that will complement the surrounding area. If approved, the development will see the site transformed into 35 one and two bedroom apartments complete with on-site car parking and professionally designed landscaped gardens.

McCarthy and Stone carried out consultation with the local community on the proposal including an exhibition to which over 900 residents, businesses and representatives were invited to attend in order to gather feedback. The results of the comments received indicate large levels of approval for the scheme, with over 85% of respondents expressing support for the plans.

Ian Wilkins, Regional Managing Director at McCarthy and Stone (North West Region) said:

“We are delighted with the positive feedback our proposals have received throughout the consultation process and would like to thank the community for their valuable comments. It is clear that local residents are supportive of the plans we have submitted."

“We hope that members and officers at Cheshire West and Chester Council will also see the benefits of the scheme when determining the application as we believe there is much demand for this type of housing in Hartford.”
