McCarthy and Stone Trials Network Platform to Drive Supply Chain Efficiencies

30 September 2019

The UK’s leading developer and manager of retirement communities, McCarthy and Stone, has announced an innovative partnership with its Southern region and Copronet – a new online portal designed to drive efficiencies and better collaboration across the construction industry supply chain.

Copronet’s platform provides a range of low cost and free services including procurement solutions, supply chain verification, project management and due diligence.  McCarthy and Stone is taking advantage of the network’s ability to help expand its approved supply chain during a trial period that will initially cover its Southern region which spans Hampshire, Dorset, Somerset, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Devon and Cornwall.

Contractors in the region registering with Copronet can demonstrate their qualifications and business critical information, enabling McCarthy and Stone to quickly assess a new contractor’s suitability for projects and firms to potentially benefit from new business opportunities with the company.

Shane Paull, Regional Managing Director for McCarthy and Stone, comments: “We are delighted to have joined forces with Copronet for this trial. I believe it will help to drive further improvements and efficiencies for our business.  construction industry needs to work more collaboratively and this is a fantastic example where we have worked hand-in-hand with Copronet to develop a solution.

“The free contractor engagement allows McCarthy and Stone to quickly identify the specialist contractor skills and experience that we seek for local developments so that we can speed up resource deployment as required.”

In addition to the bespoke McCarthy and Stone contractor verification tool, members of Copronet can also access other free services which include a project management tool to help contractors ensure deadlines are hit and work progresses efficiently.

David Stapleton, co-founder and CEO at Copronet, says: “We have designed a construction industry network platform that puts affordable technology into the hands of businesses of all sizes, helping them to work smarter. Registering is easy and I would encourage contractors of all sizes to sign up without delay.”
