McCarthy and Stone supports Tenterden community hub with £250 donation

08 March 2018

McCarthy and Stone, the housebuilder behind the new Oak Tree Court Retirement Living development on Smallhythe Road in Tenterden, has given Tenterden Community Hub a welcome boost with a £250 donation.

Formed in 2015, Tenterden Community Hub is a charitable organisation which aims to relieve financial hardship and distress on individuals and families, through the provision of grants, goods and services, and educating the public on finance management. The charity aims to launch three new projects this year alone, including regular workshops, hosting monthly lunches, and working with local schools to give children a better understanding of money.

McCarthy and Stone Site Manager, Steve Church, presented Mike Stephens, Chairman of Tenterden Community Hub, with a cheque for £250. The funds will help the charity to successfully implement new projects planned for 2018, which are estimated to cost around £5,000.

Mike Stephens said: “Tenterden Community Hub is extremely grateful to McCarthy and Stone for its generous support. This donation will enable us to help even more people in the local community to manage their circumstances better, and it will also help us to work closely with primary schools to deliver workshops on home budgeting.”

McCarthy and Stone Site Manager, Steve added: “As a company, we appreciate our responsibilities go further than building quality retirement apartments, and we also seek to create a positive legacy in the areas in which we build.

“Tenterden Community Hub is dedicated to supporting local people and it was an absolute pleasure to present this donation at the February community lunch, and witness first-hand the work of the charity. The team at McCarthy and Stone’s Oak Tree Court development wishes Mike and the team every success with their projects this year.”
