McCarthy and Stone, the housebuilder behind the Lewis House Retirement Living development on Beulah Hill in Upper Norwood, has given Upper Norwood Library Hub (UNLH) a welcome boost with them becoming a valued member of the Corporate Supporters’ Scheme with a £250 donation.
Based in Upper Norwood, the main focus of the Library Hub is to sustain library provision in the community whilst offering a range of learning, social, wellbeing and cultural activities for local residents.
Chris Neath, Library Hub Manager of the Upper Norwood Library Hub comments: “We are delighted to receive this kind donation and gesture of support from McCarthy and Stone. It is our aim to keep the Library Hub running for as long as possible, donations from supporters like yourselves help us to create a sustainable and vibrant library hub for everyone with help of Lambeth and Croydon councils. Individuals and organisations can also show us continued support by becoming Library Supporters themselves online, at uppernorwoodlibraryhub.org/supporters-scheme/ or by donating regularly via localgiving.org/upper-norwood-library-trust.”
Julie Ward, National Sales Director for McCarthy and Stone, said: “As a company we appreciate that our responsibilities go further than developing quality retirement properties - we also seek to create a positive legacy and make a difference in the communities in which we build.
“When we were looking for a charity in the Upper Norwood area to support, the Library Hub stood out for the wide range of local services it delivers to the community. As a developer which strives to enrich the lives of retirees through the opportunity to enjoy an independent retirement surrounded by like-minded individuals, it was our absolute pleasure to present this donation to such a deserving local cause.”
