McCarthy & Stone seeks charity to support in Pocklington

18 August 2017

The UK’s leading retirement housebuilder, McCarthy & Stone, has launched a search for a local charity to support in Pocklington and the surrounding areas, as its new Retirement Living development, Rogerson Court, on Scaife Garth, starts to take shape.

With construction well underway at the site, McCarthy & Stone is looking to pledge its support to a neighbourhood project, charity or one-off event within the local community.

Community groups and local charities are urged to get in touch as soon as possible by emailing requests to by midnight on Friday 1st September 2017. Please mark your emails ‘Pocklington Community Appeal’ in the subject header.

Liz Green, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy & Stone North East, comments: “Our fundamental aim when creating a development is to support and integrate McCarthy & Stone and our future homeowners into the local community. Our developments are created with community in mind, and supporting local charities or neighbourhood projects allows us to create a positive legacy.”

Rogerson Court is already proving extremely popular amongst local retirees with its central market town location and impressive facilities. The development will consist of 34 one and two bedroom apartments, alongside beautiful landscaped gardens that will be fully maintained by expert gardeners, and convenient on-site parking.

Aimed exclusively at people aged 60 and over, the development provides luxury retirement living free from external maintenance, and allows homeowners to enjoy an independent lifestyle in a safe and secure environment. The development will feature a stunning homeowners’ lounge ideal for socialising with friends and a convenient guest suite should homeowners have friends or family to stay. Set in a prominent location, Rogerson Court has a good range of amenities nearby, and has easy access to neighbouring York, Bridlington, Hull and other surrounding towns.

The development will also benefit from its very own House Manager, who will take care of the smooth-running of the development; while video entry and a 24 hour emergency call system will provide added peace-of-mind for homeowners.

Apartments at Rogerson Court will be available to buy off plan in December 2017, with first occupations expected in spring 2018.
