When it comes to supporting local tradesmen and businesses, the UK’s leading retirement housebuilder, McCarthy and Stone, is leading the way, having employed a team of local contractors in Harrow and the surrounding areas to deliver its new Rosen House development.

Led by Site Manager Dave Ridout, McCarthy and Stone has invested heavily in the local workforce to deliver the Retirement Living development on Hindes Road. Since construction began at the site in July 2017, the development has created a number of jobs for local tradespeople around Harrow, and Dave estimates 40 people are currently working on the site every day, including brick layers, scaffolders, and banksmen.

It is estimated that as the site continues to progress, a further 30 jobs in areas such as plumbing, electrics, and tiling will follow, moving the number to around 70 people working on the site each day.

Construction of Rosen House follows the success of McCarthy and Stone’s Randolph House, the Retirement Living Plus development which in now complete on Northwick Park Road, and created approximately 253 local people during its construction in 2017.

Dave Ridout, Site Manager at Rosen House on Hindes Road, commented: “McCarthy and Stone’s commitment to sourcing its tradesmen from the local work pool provides yet another welcome boost to the wider community of Harrow.

“Construction at Rosen House is well underway, meaning we have already had a number of local contractors working across the site. The importance of employing local workforces and family businesses cannot be underestimated, and as Rosen House continues to progress, we will be looking to recruit more skilled tradesmen from the local and surrounding areas.”

Set to welcome its first homeowners in August 2018, Rosen House will comprise a stylish collection of one and two bedroom private apartments, exclusively for those aged 60 and over.

Designed to provide homeowners with the very best in independent living within an environment that is safe and secure, the development will offers retirees the privacy of their own apartment with the option to enjoy the companionship of others when they choose to.

The Retirement Living development will feature a Club Lounge, ideal for socialising with new-found friends, a Guest Suite for when homeowners have visitors to stay, and beautifully maintained landscaped gardens.  A House Manager will take care of the day-to-day running of Rosen House, while secure entry systems and 24-hour emergency call points will provide added peace-of-mind for homeowners and family alike.

Rosen House offers easy access to London Euston, via a 20 minute over ground trip. For those who wish to stay closer to home, Harrow is renowned for its great shopping facilities, local events and markets, with a variety of parks and recreational grounds for future homeowners to enjoy.

More than nine out of ten customers would recommend McCarthy and Stone to a friend, ensuring it has received the full Five Star award for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation for 13 years running.  McCarthy and Stone is the only UK housebuilder of any size or type to achieve this accolade for 13 years, which is every year the awards have been run.
