McCarthy & Stone given the go ahead to regenerate Dunyeats Road
09 December 2014
Following extensive consultation with the Broadstone community and local councillors, McCarthy & Stone, Britain’s leading developer of retirement apartments, is pleased that its proposal to transform a site on Dunyeats Road was granted planning permission by Borough of Poole Council when it was determined on Thursday (4 December) afternoon.
McCarthy & Stone’s proposals will bring a new vibrant welcome on this approach into the centre of Broadstone, with 36 bespoke high-quality retirement apartments and three retail units which have also been designed to accommodate the Post Office.
Shane Paull, McCarthy & Stone’s Regional Managing Director, commented:
“From the outset we have been committed to delivering the right development for this site and have continued to amend the scheme in response to the community’s feedback. We are delighted with this result and are pleased that the hard work to address previous concerns raised, by making significant amendments to our plans, was recognised.
“At the heart of the proposals has been the creation of the right design for Broadstone. We can now proceed to regenerate this Brownfield site with much-needed accommodation for local older people and new retail space”.
McCarthy & Stone is renowned for the quality of their developments that give their homeowners the time and opportunity to do things they’ve always wanted to do. The apartments allow people in later life to retain their independence, close to their family and friends, in a home suited specifically for their customer’s needs, in a safe and enjoyable environment.
