McCarthy & Stone Flies the Flag of Success in Kirkby Lonsdale
06 October 2014
McCarthy & Stone, the UK’s leading retirement developer, is flying the flag of success after Iain Malvern, site manager at the Queen Elizabeth Court development in Kirkby Lonsdale, scooped a coveted housing award.
Iain fought off stiff competition from hundreds of other applicants to be awarded one of this year’s National Housebuilding Council’s (NHBC) Pride in the Job Quality Awards.
The awards, one of the most prestigious competitions in the house building industry, are designed to recognise those site managers in the UK who consistently demonstrate exceptional commitment to high standards in house building.
Iain joined McCarthy & Stone in 2000 as a labourer, becoming a site manager in 2010. This is Iain’s first NHBC Pride in the Job award and is a demonstration of his continued commitment to driving and delivering excellence.
Iain explains: “When you’ve been with a company as long as I have, it is difficult not to take pride in the work that you do! However, this award recognises the hard work and dedication of the whole team at Queen Elizabeth Court so it is great to be recognised and rewarded by those within the industry.”
Fiona Brookes, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy & Stone North, comments: “Throughout his career with McCarthy & Stone, Iain has always succeeded in exceeding the highest standards in house building so it’s not surprising he has picked up this award! McCarthy & Stone has won a number of NHBC awards this year and demonstrates as a company our commitment to high levels of quality, service and customer care.”
Set in spectacular scenery, Queen Elizabeth Court is situated in Kirkby Lonsdale, bordered by the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. The development offers easy access to surrounding areas with excellent local amenities.
