McCarthy & Stone donates £1000 to local school for new outdoor play equipment

05 July 2017

The UK’s leading retirement housebuilder, McCarthy and Stone, has donated £1,000 to the Friends of Bridgetown Primary School in Stratford upon Avon to help provide a new, exciting and stimulating learning environment for the students.

The primary school has been raising money to replace an old climbing frame and outdoor equipment which were no longer suitable for the children to use. McCarthy and Stone has donated the final sum of money required by the school for a Modular Play System, Trim Trail and all-weather Multi Use Games Area, providing the children with an additional area to use during lesson and playtimes, and for community groups to use out of school hours.

Lisa Pinkerton, Deputy Head Teacher at the Friends of Bridgetown Primary School, commented: “Supporting the emotional and physical wellbeing of our children is central to our school values. By having this new play area in place, our children can learn and play in an exciting, stimulating and safe environment. We are very grateful to McCarthy and Stone for their kind donation and look forward to the children’s reactions when the play area is ready for their return in September.”

Martin Edwards, Deputy Regional Managing Director at McCarthy and Stone West Midlands, said: “We are delighted the Friends of Bridgetown Primary School are happy with the donation. A tight-knit community and companionship are among the many benefits of living in a McCarthy and Stone development. The donation for the play equipment is an example of the many ways in which we can help to bring people together and we hope the children enjoy their new play area.”
