McCarthy & Stone wins an award for cartwright court in Malvern

McCarthy & Stone, the UK’s leading developer of retirement apartments, recently celebrated after being presented with the annual Malvern Civic Society Award for its new development, Cartwright Court on Victoria Road.

Mrs Val Cartwright, the wife of the development’s architect, Mr Bob Cartwright, along with Tim Lightfoot, McCarthy & Stone’s Production Director, were presented with a commemorative plaque by Dudley Brook, the President of Malvern Civic Society, following the win.

The development was nominated by a member of the Malvern Civic Society who took a tour of the development during an open weekend and was impressed with what facilities were on offer to the elderly community in Malvern.

The aim of the Civic Society is to conserve and protect the best elements of Malvern’s heritage in the built and natural environment, while seeking to encourage and promote high standards of planning and architectural design for the enhancement, general improvement and appearance of Great Malvern and the surrounding area.

Dudley Brook, President of the Malvern Civic Society, comments: “It was a pleasure to come to the development and present McCarthy & Stone with this award. We have been extremely impressed with Cartwright Court. The exterior blends in nicely with the Victorian architecture of the surrounding buildings and we felt it really improved the area. Inside, the development is well laid out and spacious.”

Gill Sabin, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy & Stone, commented: “We are thrilled and honoured that our Malvern development has won such a prestigious award in the local community. We had a great day celebrating our win with the local community and encouraging them to visit our award winning development.”

McCarthy & Stone is currently selling one and two bedroom Assisted Living apartments exclusively for the over 70s at Cartwright Court. The development benefits from facilities including a table service restaurant, a lounge for socialising, plus personal care and support services all in a safe and secure environment that offers peace of mind and continued independence in a property they continue to own. All properties are low maintenance and energy efficient.
