McCarthy & Stone announces name of its new Retirement Living development in Pickering, North Yorkshire

03 November 2014

Ryebeck Court recognises Pickering Beck and the River Rye.

McCarthy & Stone, the UK’s leading retirement builder, has announced that its new Retirement Living development in Pickering, North Yorkshire will be named Ryebeck Court, in recognition of two local natural attractions - Pickering Beck and the River Rye.

The company is committed to choosing names which have significance to the local area. Pickering Beck flows through the village and merges with the River Rye, via neighbouring Costa Beck. The name is a combination of both waterways.

Karen Harrowell, Regional Sales Manager at McCarthy & Stone, commented: “It is important that all our developments have a name that is fitting to the local area. Ryebeck Court has an enviable location close to the border of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. We are pleased that the name of our new development reflects the natural beauty of the area.”

Construction on Ryebeck Court, located on Eastgate, is now underway. On completion, the development will comprise 41 one and two bedroom Retirement Living apartments, exclusively for over 60s.  The sales launch for Ryebeck Court takes place on Tuesday 18th November at the Best Western Forest and Vale Hotel. There will be two presentations during the event, taking place at 11am and 2pm, which will highlight further details about the apartments.

McCarthy & Stone’s Retirement Living developments offer the independence of retaining home ownership while living in an apartment specifically designed for over 60s. Facilities at Ryebeck Court will include a homeowners’ lounge, landscaped gardens and a hotel style guest suite. There will also be a security entrance system, 24-hour emergency call points and an on-site House Manager during office hours, to provide peace of mind for both purchasers and their families.
