Mayor of Charnwood Lays Foundation For New Retirement Development

16 September 2019

The Mayor of Charnwood, Councillor Brenda Seaton, donned a hi-vis jacket and hard hat last week to help lay an official date brick at McCarthy and Stone’s brand new Retirement Living development on the Clear View Farm site on Loughborough Road, Quorn.

Councillor Seaton joined the McCarthy and Stone team, including Site Manager Ross Clayton and Customer Relationship Manager, Dominic Bristow, to take a closer look at development plans and find out more about the benefits of Retirement Living.

Located on Loughborough Road, the forthcoming development will comprise a selection of one and two-bedroom apartments and bungalows exclusively for the over 60s. The first available properties will be released for off-plan sales from spring 2020 with first occupations expected in Autumn 2020.

The Mayor, Councillor Seaton, commented: “I was delighted to visit the site of McCarthy and Stone’s forthcoming development in Quorn, and to have the honour of laying a date brick. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet the construction team and to hear first-hand about the benefits of living in a high quality retirement community.

“I look forward to seeing construction progress at this new development, which will boost the choice for retirees in Quorn and the surrounding areas.”

McCarthy and Stone developments are thoughtfully-designed to provide the very best in modern, independent living within a safe and secure environment. Facilities include a homeowners’ lounge, a convenient guest suite, and landscaped gardens maintained by experts. Secure entrance systems and 24-hour emergency call points provide added peace-of-mind; and a House Manager takes care of the running of Retirement Living developments.

Samantha Watkins, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for McCarthy and Stone, commented: “We are delighted that the Mayor of Charnwood, Councillor Brenda Seaton, was able to take the time to visit our Quorn site, look at our plans and lay a commemorative date brick.

“McCarthy and Stone is committed to designing flexible homes which allow people to make the most of their retirement years, and to live as independently as possible with the benefit of having extra support should they need it. We hope our Quorn development will provide the ideal setting for retirees to enjoy their retirement to its fullest, and we urge all those interested to register now for further updates as the build programme progresses.”

More than 90 percent of customers would recommend McCarthy and Stone to a friend, ensuring it has received the maximum Five Star award for customer satisfaction from the Home Builders Federation for 14 years’ running.  It is the only UK housebuilder of any size or type to achieve this accolade for 14 years, which is every year since the awards have been running.
