Mayor explores downsizing possibilities in Lichfield

The Mayor of Lichfield, Councillor Janice Greaves, donned a high visibility jacket and hard hat to help lay the building blocks of McCarthy and Stone’s brand new Retirement Living development in the city. 

The VIP guest joined Martin Edwards, Regional Managing Director for McCarthy and Stone West Midlands, and McCarthy and Stone Site Manager, Carl Hopkins to take a closer look at development plans and perform a ground-breaking ceremony to officially celebrate the start of construction. 

Located in Cross Keys, the development will eventually comprise of a stylish collection of 44 one and two bedroom privately-owned apartments exclusively designed for the over 60s. Apartments will be available to buy off plan in summer 2018, with first occupations expected early 2019. 

Mayor of Lichfield, Councillor Janice Greaves commented: “It was a pleasure to visit the site of McCarthy and Stone’s new development in Lichfield, and to mark the start of construction there. Facilities at the development will include a stunning homeowners’ lounge ideal for socialising with friends, beautifully landscaped gardens, parking facilities, and a convenient guest suite should friends or relatives wish to stay. A House Manager will take care of the smooth day-to-day running of the development; while a security entrance system and 24-hour emergency call points will provide added peace-of-mind for homeowners and their families.
