Locals in Weybridge Invited to Name New McCarthy & Stone Development

26 July 2019

The UK’s leading developer and manager of retirement communities, McCarthy and Stone, has announced construction is set to commence at its forthcoming Weybridge development, which will be situated on Queens Road.

Ahead of the build programme getting under way, McCarthy and Stone is appealing to local people to enter its ‘What’s in a Name’ competition, and to suggest a name for the new development. The winning entrant will be granted the opportunity to attend the official opening as well as receiving a cheque for £200.

Julie Ward, National Sales Director for McCarthy and Stone South East, said: "We are inviting people from the local area to name our latest development in Weybridge. We are looking for two names which will be relevant to the local community; and these can be anything from suggestions honouring local landmarks or scenery, to names incorporating elements of the town’s rich history. Simply submit your ideas by Monday 12th August to be considered for the prize, and to put your stamp on a little bit of future history in the town.”

To be in with a chance of naming McCarthy and Stone's new developments and to win £200, all you have to do is email mccarthyandstone@mccann.com with your suggested development names and the reason behind them. Please include ‘Weybridge’ in the subject header, and also include your name and contact details in the email. The competition is open to people of all ages from the local and surrounding areas and the deadline for entries is Monday 12th August.

Currently under construction, the development will comprise of 43 one and two bedroom apartments, exclusively designed for people aged 70 and over.

The shared lounge will be perfect for socialising with new neighbours and homeowners will be able to make the most of beautiful landscaped gardens knowing all the maintenance is taken care of.  They can also feel secure in the knowledge that the Estates Manager is on hand to provide any help or support should they need it.

Located in the highly desirable village of Weybridge, the future development is a short walk away from a range of local amenities, including supermarkets, restaurants and cafes. A bus stop is always within walking distance; and the local train station, which is just one mile away, has regular services to London Waterloo.

Furthermore, in July and August, there has never been a better time to move at a McCarthy and Stone community. For a limited time, McCarthy and Stone will pay stamp duty on selected new apartments for reservations made before 31st August 2019, provided the completion date is no later than 25th of October 2019.  Full terms and conditions and a list of participating developments can be found at mccarthyandstone.co.uk/stamp-duty-paid.
